Judges Comments:

Credit to the breeders of Clearwings. You just blow me away. Each year I see birds at either a Zone selection or a Nationals that you're just doing brilliant work with these clearwings, over the years. Years ago, the clearwings we had were little and now they hold their own. There are some really lovely birds here variety-wise.

Cage L owned by Sheppard & Flanagan from Victoria, stands up off the perch beautifully. It's got the contrast with the dark factor through the wing and the body colour. He's got this beautiful round flow over the top and is lovely long bird. Like I said, 5-10 years ago, we probably wouldn't have had that. However, where the advances are going in leaps and bounds. He is just a straight-up bird that stood up. He's given us his best now. He was a little bit iffy as we were going through, but he stands beautifully off the perch. He's got a lovely eye crease, maybe not as wide as we'd like our birds to be. However, a lovely contrast, lovely clear wing. Well done.

Cage E owned by Bruce Schuster from North Queensland, another dark factor with the contrast not so clear, however, that is a really lovely budgie. It's got beautiful cap, some lovely feathering, and it's got depth of mass. A really, really good variety bird.

Cage C owned by Andrew Cusack from New South Wales, here we have what we call a perfect clearwing, down in the body colour, but beautiful contrast through the body and the wing. So, again, a lovely budgie.
