Judges Comments:
Thank you to those who were breeding this variety, it's not an easy variety
We saw some examples in this class with excellent depth and uniformity of colour.
Cage S owned by J & W Weidenhofer from South Australia, The 1st bird has that Even though he has a course of feather, it's still a beautiful even colour. His length and the colour, and a lovely release in the cap was what saw him take the number one spot. Now, we would have loved to have seen a little bit more shoulder.
Cage R owned by G & D Pymont from New South Wales, is a bird who stands up really nice, but he's just down a little bit in colour. He has a little bit more of the lateral feathering going down from the seer than the first bird. But he just didn't have enough… he lost more points on the colour.
Cage M owned by Alan Jaeschke from Western Australia, has a beautiful outline. It's almost like the standard, but he's just a little bit short from the perch to the mask, a little bit short in the keel, but a lovely budgerigar as well.
Cage A owned by T & K Hill from New South Wales, is even in body colour. Very out of condition in the cap. And it also shows on the wing where he's missing just two outside flights, which went slightly against him, but a good solid budgerigar.
Cage F owned by C & E Rogers from New South Wales, is a lovely budgerigar, but has a lot of body colour in the wings, so the ground colour in the wings is heavily suffused and has body colour through the wings. So that went against him where the other birds are cleaner.
