Judges Comments:

A very strong class, lots of good feather, lots of structure about the birds, lots of lateral feather, a lot of good things about the actual birds.

In the top five or six places were outstanding. There were some condition problems in Cage L and Cage Q. However, with the budgies themselves, we gave a few points off, but they were just too strong.

Cage A owned by Norm Wheatley from Western Australia, an outstanding big, strong bird. It was just a pleasure to have him up on the perch and give him that time to show himself. And he's such a restful bird, he just stands there and just says Not a problem.

Cage N owned by Perc Anlezark from Victoria, Again, another strong bird which stands perfectly off the perch, has all those beautiful requirements of an exhibition by deep mask, good spot right across to the width and depth and placement of the spots. Lovely capping, and it was good to see that there wasn't a great lot of ticking.

Cage L owned by T & S Appleton from Victoria, is another strong budgerigar, I mean, I'll use the word strong, I'll use the word big, powerful, all those things cover these four or five birds in the top birds.

They're not saying anything against the birds on the birds on the top perch. They are strong budgies, too, and it was a real credit to the breeders to present those birds and the carers to bring them up into condition. There are a few little things and, you know, negatives as such, but they're things that you have override by positives, Congratulations. The birds on the bottom perch, all lovely birds again credit to the breeders. Well done.
