Judges Comments:

Remarkably, the quality of the dilutes and the body colour with approaching 30%.

A credit to the breeders that they can achieve a budgie as well as a dilute, and I've seen dilutes over the years have been outstanding, show quality birds.

Our first two birds, Cage C owned by D Brooks from North Queensland and Cage L owned by Norm Wheatley from Western Australia are yellow faces. We've got two hens in the first two places that are very lovely hens, lovely feather, length of feather, depth of mass. Good spot and they have a tendency to show themselves off. The first bird in Cage C was a little bit skittish to start off, but we did see her quality at the start. Sitting in Cage C, was our benchmark, you're the one that we went by. And as we went down, all the birds were just

Cage B owned by J & W Weidenhofer from South Australia, we knew that we were concerned about the spots and the tail curl. However, we allowed it to go through. Just something to be aware of the breeder of that bird. However, the quality of the dilutes is something to be credited, and we're very happy to judge that class today.

Cage F owned R Kirby from Victoria and Cage H owned by D Broughton from Victoria, the birds in F and H have got that lovely line through the perch. They've got some capping release. They've got depth of mass and good shoulder. And then we start to drop off a wee bit. But overall, a really lovely class and a credit to the breeders.
