Judges Comments:

Cage O owned by John Ennis from Victoria, it's hard to explain such a quality budgie. I was very fortunate that when I judged the quality budgerigars in Germany, I saw birds like that and then you forget about them. You see them in photos, and you see them on the videos, et cetera. That bird was sitting there, and it took our breath away. It was the width, the capping, just the overall budgie is just amazing. It's probably the best I've seen in the last 5 to 10 years. I might be just carrying on a bit, and all excited about it, but it's absolutely a brilliant budgie and I'm lost for words to describe it. However, it's got massive cap, it's got beautiful depth of mask, it is an exhibition budgerigar of the highest quality. The breeder who owns that bird that, well done.

Cage R owned by Hedra Kamel from Victoria, Cage M owned by Holmes family from South Australia,  Cage D owned by Russell & Cheryl Ogden from North Queensland, all could have won on a different day. They all have lots of feather, cap release, lateral feathering, beautiful shape. Stand off the perch. All of these characteristics that you want in exhibition bird. They have good markings, their stance off the perch. The birds flow all the way through and we're very, very fortunate that down to even 10th placing, they were super budgerigars.

Cage F owned by Noel Kerr from Western Australia, is a normal spangle not AOSV.

Cage B owned by J & W Weidenhofer from South Australia, it has no tail.

Overall, a magnificent class, well done.
